# Supported Versions &  Mods

Maplewood is playable on Minecraft **1.21.10 and newer**. Mods are optional, but **Simple Voice Chat** is supported for proximity chat.

### Supported Versions

Maplewood is a **Java Edition–only** server. Players using **Minecraft 1.21.10 or newer** will receive the full experience, including access to the server resource pack.

Older Java versions may still be able to connect, but **the Maplewood resource pack will not load correctly** and certain visuals or features may be missing.

### Supported Mods

[**Simple Voice Chat**](https://modrinth.com/plugin/simple-voice-chat) client mod on **Minecraft 1.21.10+**, allowing players to use the server’s **in-game proximity voice chat** feature. The mod is optional but required if you wish to participate in voice chat.
